Another simple way to get more referrals
In our last edition we reminded our readers how easy it is to get referrals – by simply asking. There’s another simple process that is extremely successful and it hardly requires any effort on your behalf... but many people forget to use it.
When you send out your newsletter or e-news, do you include a comment or link asking your readers to pass your newsletter on? This is much easier if you are using an e-newsletter because all it requires is a comment at the end of each of your articles such as “If you found this article of interest, please forward it on to family or friends.”. You then make this comment a link to your “Send to a friend" function in your e-news program.
Most people will probably just hit “forward” in their email program, but the key here is that you must remind them to do it.
Printed newsletters are just as easy. On your front or back cover, save some space to highlight a message like “Would your family or friends benefit from reading our newsletter? If you would like another copy, contact us on .............. and we’ll send you extras.” Or something like that.
Most of us are so busy these days that a little prompting can make your newsletters go much further afield.
Remember, ask and you have a better chance of receiving, so always take the opportunity to ask for referrals. It is the most cost-effective form of marketing available.
Help your colleagues or friends with their business; please pass this article on.
